(VideoBrain Computer Company, 1977)

Released in 1977 and manufactured by Umtech Incorporated, this 8 bit computer boasted four joystick ports and 16 colours, it was made for gamers. It wasn’t widely sold, briefly stocked by Macy’s and costing from $500-$1100 depending on the setup. It offered software via cartridges, which was a first for computer systems.

Unfortunately with very few games it was discontinued just two years after its launch and even a price reduction down to $300 wasn’t enough to save it from sinking to obscurity. If you are lucky enough to own one of these, it’s likely to fetch a decent price if you decide to sell it.
